The Nitty Gritty - FAQ's
Finding the right fit when it comes to a therapy journey is so important! To ensure quality care that meets your family's unique needs, we begin our process with a free comprehensive initial intake phone call with one of our therapists!
We believe that occupational and physical therapy services shouldn't be a one size fits all process. Therefore, with this important step we can begin designing the therapeutic process that works best for your family's needs with your input at the forefront!
To book your initial intake phone call, please click the contact tab to get started! We can't wait to help your family flourish!
Followed by retrieval of intake documents and parent questionnaires, a one hour in-person evaluation session is then completed in our cozy clinic or in-home (PT services only at this time). You and your child will come in together and be greeted by your therapist! Feel free to bring one or both parents/caregivers, totally up to you! We'll start with a quick tour and then jump in to a variety of assessments and activities. These structured observations will help to assess your child's unique strengths and needs to ensure that we are getting to the root of how we can best meet the important goals you have for your child and family!
We will work to make these assessments and observations as playful as possible! Worried that your child won't love participating? Don't worry -- we will meet them right where they are at!! The most important thing is that you and your child feel safe and comfortable and we'll work to do whatever we can to make that possible!
Following the evaluation, you will receive a comprehensive written evaluation report within two to three weeks. We want you to feel confident in the information provided and be able to jump right into helping to meet those goals at home, so while not mandatory, we strongly encourage a follow up parent session to discuss these important findings!
The Vibe:
Therapy sessions are available in our cozy clinic, virtually, or in your home (for families receiving physical therapy services).Every session is thoughtfully tailored to your child's unique strengths, interests, and goals. We believe children learn best through meaningful play, so therapy often looks like following your child's lead while intentionally weaving in activities that support sensory integration, motor development, emotional regulation, and everyday functional skills.Above all, we want your child to feel safe, connected, and empowered. By creating a playful and trusting environment, we're able to foster meaningful growth while making therapy an enjoyable experience for the whole family. Can Parents Be Present?Absolutely! We love partnering with parents and caregivers and encourage you to be part of the therapy process whenever possible. Some of the greatest progress happens when strategies carry over into everyday life, and your involvement plays an important role in that.Being mom's we also know that parenting is demanding, and sometimes an hour to yourself is exactly what you need. Whether you'd like to participate in the session or enjoy a little time to recharge, we're here to support your family's needs without judgment. Each session includes approximately 50 minutes of one-on-one therapy, followed by about 10 minutes dedicated to parent collaboration. During this time, we'll review your child's progress, answer questions, and share practical strategies and activities you can confidently incorporate into daily routines. How Often Will My Child Need Therapy? There isn't a one-size-fits-all answer. Therapy recommendations are based on your child's strengths, challenges, goals, and your family's preferences and ability to carry strategies over at home.Following your child's intake call and evaluation, your therapist will work with you to develop a personalized plan of care that supports meaningful progress while fitting your family's lifestyle. Our goal is always to recommend the level of support that best meets your child's needs! Not more than necessary, and never less than they deserve!

Why won't my child eat vegetables? I've done all the things, but how do I make them work in my home?Hi! We're here for that and more! At Flourish, our priority is providing thoughtful, quality, and individualized care that puts you, not your insurance company, at the center of the therapeutic process! Being out of network allows our therapists to make clinical decisions based on what is truly best for you rather than what an insurance plan will approve or reimburse.
Insurance companies often limit the number or length of sessions, or place restrictions on the types of treatment they will cover and can be variable dependent upon on diagnosis.
By remaining out of network, we have the ability to truly personalize our care to meet your family and child's unique needs which is of the utmost importance to us!
Our goal is to provide high-quality, compassionate care in an environment where growth and progress can take priority over paperwork. If you have out-of-network benefits, we're happy to provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
